Great place for a day out, cave was a little slippy due to damp conditions and alot of foot traffic would be great during the week out of peak hours

Fantastic natural cave to explore. Entrance does involve some climbing, so depending on the weather expect to get wet and dirty, dress accordingly. Exit is slightly more tricky, wet slopes onto a top of a steep incline but if you take your time, no problem really.

Absolutely loved the hike to Thor's cave. There is a free parking with public toilets by Wetton village and there are signs that shows the direction to the car park.You have to walk back following the trail to the cave.The view point above the cave is so beautiful and then the cave itslelf is amazing. It's muddy and slippery around if its raining so proper hike shoes are recommended. The entry to the cave is slippery and tricky too but the view from inside is lovely. It's not far from Lud's Church around 13 miles, which is another popular destination so if you go there, the hike towards the Church would be a great experience.

It's a pleasant walk from Weetton.
The entrance is a climb/ scramble,everyone very helpful.

Really easy to find lots of passing points on the roads surrounding. We went on a Sunday morning in February and by 11am it was getting really busy. My advice would be to get there early, especially during school holidays and the warmer months. Our two dogs managed it with ease. It’s very popular with dog owners so if your dog is t good with other dogs definitely go early.
Plenty of kids managing it well. When wet or in the cooler months it can get very slippy, and very muddy so dress appropriately with good shoes!
There is a tea room near by for refreshments, they take card but there is a minimum order of £5 to do so.
The nearby parking gets full quickly so if you want a spot instead of parking up along the edges nearby, again, go early.
People were generally very considerate and friendly.

Great little walk with the kids from Wetton. The tea rooms were closed but the muddy walk up to the cave was nice. Id wear good shoes, as it does get slippery near the caves. You have to scramble into the cave and then back down. Some people that are not good on their feet may struggle with this.
The views are great and the locals have put enough signage up to point you in the direction of the caves, rather than through their lovely gardens.

An easy walk up to the cave. My three year old was able to walk the whole way up and down. It's slippy and muddy in the cave so make sure you're wearing suitable clothes. We spent a good 45 mins exploring inside the cave ( we were with three children ) and they really enjoyed it. Not sure I'd climb it again. Once you've done it, you've done it but it's definitely worth a visit.

Great place to walk around and explore , plenty of places nearby to park up and walk around up to Thor’s Cave itself , you have to actually climb into the cave itself which is slippy but doable , lots of couples , families and groups of friends there but annoyingly people bringing dogs ,

Very nice place to visit the Cave, and the surrounding area is lovely for walks etc although I went on a rainy day and it was very wet and muddy I and my partner really enjoyed it and we will definitely be going back in the summer..

Awesome cave located in the peaks, supremely muddy in winter though! Highly recommend getting your adventure on and climbing right up into it!

Great walk for a fit family/healthy friends. If you fear stairs then maybe just find yourself a mud pub instead
